A Little About Me
My name is Rea, which is short for Martha-Marie Ketchin Parrish. I am a graphic designer, living in Columbia, SC. I graduated from the University of South Carolina where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts-Graphic Design. Early in my college education, I discovered a real knack for graphic design and enjoyed working on all the assignments that were given to me. I was selected for admission to the University's Graphic Design program out of a group of 200 applicants in which only twenty were accepted.
Art has always been a part of my life. I enjoy sketching, painting, ceramics, photography and designing. I realized that with design I can use my talents in other areas of art and combine them into one piece.
I have extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I have experience in logo design, packaging design, and company identities as well as designing posters, magazine layouts, booklets, print advertisements, etc.
My philosophy for graphic design is taken directly from the old saying “you only get one chance to make a first impression.” When people see a logo, poster or letterhead, this is often their first impression of a company or brand. It is important for the logo, poster or letterhead to be well designed so the customers will develop
a loyalty to the brand or the company. I feel the same way about my work and the work I do for others. I am passionate about the work I do and want to make sure I satisfy the people I work for.
