Ultimate Cola
For this project, I merged Pepsi Max and Diet Coke to create a new product. I renamed and rebranded this merged product and came up with a new identity for it by incorporating elements from the two original products into the rebranding. I redesigned the product and gave it a unique look to separate it from the original product.

Magazine
In choosing the topic for a start up magazine, I created a healthy cooking magazine. I determined a name for the publication, Fit Food for Healthy Lifestyles, and developed a prototype premier issue for the magazine. The complete designed issue contained the minimum of: two articles each at least four pages, a table of contents, a masthead for the magazine, and front and back covers. Of the two articles, one was an interview. The articles incorporated all original imagery and techniques of photography, illustration, and found object.

I designed three advertisements to be placed in various classmates’ magazines. The first was a half color ad for a Christian magazine. The second was a fourth black and white ad for a video game magazine, called Nerd. The third was a fourth black and white ad for a do-it-yourself magazine. The advertisement was for a steakhouse specializing in bison called Montana’s Bison Prairieview Grill.

Book Cover
The first part of the project involved selecting a book to design a jacket for. I chose The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I had to design the front and back covers, spine, and inside flaps. The front cover had to show the book title and the author, as did the spine. The back cover needed to display a brief text, no more than 250 words, such as multiple reviews of the book. Also on the back cover, the publisher’s name need to be displayed and a UPC had to be included. The contents on the flaps had to have information about the author and a summary of the book.

Identity Project: NEH
I participated in the Real Show, which is a prestigious annual competition of the Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington. My mission was to create a clear National Endowment for the Humanities identity and communications system. The system integrated the seven internal divisions as well as provided brand consistency to the organization. I designed a logo and a stationery package that included a letterhead, envelope, and business card.
Identity Project: Robo Rufus
The assignment was to use “aluminum” as an adjective and “pet sitter” as a profession. The goal was to design a stationary system based on this combination with no restrictions on variations of the word. I created an identity for a robotic security company by designing a letterhead, business card and envelope, which were all standard size. The envelope (9 3/8” x 4”) included a person’s name and an address. The business card (3 3/8” x 1 7/8”) could be oriented horizontally or vertically and had to contain additional information such as a title, fax number, email address, etc. The letterhead (8.5” x 11”) had to contain this information as well.
CD Project
The assignment focused on designing CD cover artwork. I chose to design the cover around one song in particular off the album, “Drops of Jupiter” by Train. I designed the information booklet at the front of the CD case as well as the CD artwork and the back of the CD case.
